Find out in more detail how you benefit from using Peter's services

Peter does music recording sessions in recording studios, halls, churches, clubs, basically any place that is required by the client.
He owns a lot of excellent recording equipment that he brings to his sessions.

He's a Tonmeister capable of producing orchestral sessions, an experienced score reader, knowing how to communicate in a recording situation with artists and clients.

Peter lived through many stages of surround or multi-channel audio and has experienced the various transitions from Dolby Surround 4-channel through 5.1, 7.1 to Dolby Atmos immersive sound. Again a big asset for his clients in terms of many years of experience.

Peter is mixing music for films, video games, classical, jazz and pop. He is an expert Pro Tools, Logic Pro and Cubase user with his own mixing studio, familiar with all modern plugins, contemporary editing and in-the-box mixing concepts.
He can mix at his own studio (up to 5.1) with clients present in person or remotely using Source Connect Pro or similar software. He also mixes at his client's places, composer's home studios, dubbing stages or other commercial studios. He can be booked as music mixer on the dubbing stage and will bring his own rig if the situation calls for it.

Peter is offering music editing services in the "classical" sense: Editing of recorded takes according to the score. He is also offering music editing in the "film" sense: Preparing printed stems for the dub, delivering edited music to the dubbing stage and editing music on the stage to make necessary adjustments with picture.
He has worked as dubbing mixer for smaller projects and ADR engineer.

Peter is a music recording and mixing engineer who started out in the business in 1988 after graduating from a two year course at SAE college in Munich and Sydney, Australia.

He underwent a thorough training as scoring assistant and assistant engineer directly after that at Bavaria Musik Studios, Munich, Germany, with his main teachers being Keith Grant and John Timperley, both legendary UK engineers, for whom he then worked in the UK later on.
He also assisted Eric Tomlinson many times, the engineer who recorded the first Star Wars score by John Williams back in 1977.

In that respect Peter is very much old school as he knows how to record music played by real people!

He knows about microphones, their different sounds and how to use them to get an optimum result. Not many younger engineers get the chance to experience the sound and colour of the best microphones in the world.
Peter is now lucky enough to own a collection of the best microphones in the world himself and he brings them to his recording sessions. The same goes for microphone preamplifiers and he owns 40 exquisite channels of them, an enormous asset for his clients.

Growing up in the analogue audio world he learnt how to line up tape machines and Dolby noise reduction systems, repair analogue gear, plan new patchbay layouts and solder complete studio wirings.

In contrast to that Peter never missed a beat when it came to embracing the digital audio world. He's been a Pro Tools and Logic user for 25 years.

His musical background as a classical guitarist, experienced chorister, double bass player and studies in musicology let him evaluate a performance easily, make appropriate musical comments and be a trusted and reliable pair of ears in the control room.

Peter loves to work with musicians and is as serious about his work as they are, being able to communicate on the same professional level and enjoying music as much as they do.
